SAD NEWS

Peter Waters passed away on Thursday night after a long battle with cancer.

He is remembered by many of us for his enthusiasm for bowls and his love of life.

He was a verry enthusiastic Saint in real life and is  probably having a kick to kick with Daryl Baldock right now!

We will miss him.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Our club is short of umpires.

Ross Bannister from Bowls South is happy to come to the club to do a measurers course, which is the first in the series of 3 sessions required for umpiring accreditation.

Even if you don’t wish to be an umpire it is very good training for thirds, for the upcoming pennant season.

There is a list on the general notice board in the Indoor Centre - please add your name if you are interested.

The date and time of the face-to-face course is still to be worked out. Participants will need to register online and pay a $40 fee for the session once details are decided upon.

The Howrah Bowls Club (HBC) was founded in 1985 when the need was identified for a social and sporting complex to service the fastest growing eastern shore suburbs of Hobart.

There are currently 160 full members of the HBC and 240 social playing members.

We would like to invite new members and social players.
