BTS SURVEY - HAVE YOUR SAY!!
The BTS Survey canvases a range of options, that will enhance competition and generate greater participation in the sport by current, new and potential members. Some of the options include:
Length of season;
Division composition ie number of sides per division;
Side composition eg 4 or 3 rinks;
Team structure.
Note - There are printed copies of the survey and a lodgement box at the front desk in the Indoor Centre
Vale Cliff Whitehead
It is with much sadness we advise all members and friends of the Howrah Bowls Club of the passing of our well respected and loved player and member of the Board, Cliff Whitehead. Cliff passed away after a short in hospital.
Cliff came into the club as a barefoot bowler and very quickly showed his talent, marketing skills and willingness to volunteer when needed, quickly taking on the Board position as Marketing Manager a couple of years ago.
Cliff also was the talented gardener who provided the many many plants for sale on our produe stall.
He will be sadly missed by all members of the club and the many sponsors he made contact with in his marketing role.
The Club flag will be flown at half-mast on Saturday in honour of Cliff. All Howrah players will form a circle on the greens wherever they are playing, and give a moments reflection on their memories of Cliff as a fellow club members. Black arm bands may be worn in his honour if you so desire.
Our deepest sympathy to Norma and family.
The Howrah Bowls Club Ladies Consistency Day
The Howrah Bowls Club Ladies Consistency Day, was held today - Bernice Archer, our ladies patron, has sponsored this for 20 years. Thankyou Bernice.
Todays winner was Anne Allanby, runner up Di Vickers, and B grade winner Jill Reid. Congratulations to you all - you all bowled beautifully. And thanks to all the bowlers and volunteers who helped make it a fun day. <See photos>
